I've had first-hand experience with actual coding, testing, and deployment.

Early in my junior developer career, I experienced a pain point that drove me to learn some business analysis (BA) and product ownership (PO) skills because the "requirements are not ready." From there, I was able to elicit my own requirements and significantly increase my work efficiency (reduced rework a lot).

Another challenge I've encountered was the lack of documentation. So I studied technical writing and helped establish the knowledge base for the team I was part of. Lastly, in an effort to remedy the lack of direction and clarity I mostly notice in software organizations, I studied project management (PM). I was able to put my project management knowledge to use as a team leader, an assistant project manager, a full-time project manager, and a freelance management consultant.

As a natural planner, I believe Process Improvement, Requirements management & Knowledge Management are my callings.
